Fell Race Round Walk is a Splash Hit
A new fell race among the glorious scenery of the Ingleton Waterfalls has been hailed a success after attracting nearly 100 runners for its first event which was held on Thursday 28 May 2015 at 7.30 p.m.
The runners tackled a five mile route along the famous Ingleton Waterfall Trail, climbing 800ft during the first Ingleton Scenery off road race. The runners aged from 16 to 70 and 20 different clubs, with one, who was holidaying in the area, from France.
The race was won by Tom Durcan of Derwent Athletic Club in 29min 27sec, with Paul Webb of Settle Harriers in second and Stephen Chew of Barlick Fell Runners in third. First woman home was Melaine Hyder of Helm Hill Runners in Kendal. First local male was James Maxwell of Settle Harriers and the first local female was the talented Ellie Lambert of Wharfedale Harriers.
