Opening Times & Admission Prices

The trail is open seven days a week, throughout the year (closed Christmas Day) and opens at 9.00 a.m. Closing times vary according to the time of year. The trail takes on average 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete, so please bear this in mind as you will need to complete the trail before darkness.

You should allow between two and a half and four hours to complete, depending on your fitness levels and whether you are walking or strolling.

Please note that for safety reasons the trail closes in extreme weather conditions (please ring the ticket office for further information).

Payment by card only. There is no need to pre-book, please pay on the day of your visit on arrival at the ticket office.

1st November to 28th February:
During the winter months the kiosk is usually closed but does open occasionally. The picnic tables located in the Broadwood Carpark are still available for use during this period.

Falls Cafe

Falls Café at Broadwood car park is currently being refurbished. We hope to reopen in Spring 2025.

Located approximately halfway around the trail, Falls Park is the perfect place to stop for a rest.

Falls Park Refreshment Kiosk offers a range of hot and cold drinks and snacks. The refreshment kiosk has a picnic area with views of Ingleborough. Toilets are available.

Children’s Activity Challenge

Activity packs are available from the ticket office. The pack includes an activity sheet and pencil, with 10 rubbing posts to find, word search and quiz questions to complete. Hand in the completed sheet at the ticket office to claim your prize.

Terrain and Accessibility

The total length of the circular trail is four and a half miles, so you should allow between 2 and 4 hours to complete it.  This is a strenuous walk with a large number of steps along the full route, the trail follows a well-defined footpath and is unsuitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Sections of the path are uneven and can be slippery at times.  Please stay on the path, for your own safety and to help us protect this special environment.

Your Safety

The Trail passes through areas that are dangerous if you leave the path.  The path rises to 300m above sea level at the highest point and at times of inclement weather we recommend visitors have appropriate waterproof clothing.  To ensure enjoyment of the Trail please follow our guidelines;

FOOTPATHS

Keep to the main footpath and take extra care at times of year when the paths may be slippery.

CHILDREN

Supervise children at all times.

SIGNS

Read and follow all warning signs.

DOGS

Responsible dog owners are welcome to use the trail.  Keep your dog on a lead at all times.

 

NO SWIMMING

No swimming in the river.

NO BBQs

No campfires or barbecues allowed.

CLOTHING

Wear suitable warm clothing including waterproof coat and trousers.

FOOTWEAR

Wear suitable strong footwear with good grip.  We recommend walking boots.

ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING POINTS

Electric Vehicle Charging Points are available at Broadwood Car Park.

NO OVERNIGHT PARKING

Do not park in the Car Park overnight.

VALUABLES

Do not leave valuables in your car.
